I, too, own a Chevy Volt and I love, love, love it! However, one thing that's rarely talked about is how the number of miles you can drive on a charge depends on the air temperature. Every winter, instead of seeing 50 miles of EV driving available on a full charge, it drops to around 30 miles (Volts are EV/gas hybrids). I believe that's also the case for full EVs but correct me if I'm wrong. That might help explain why EVs are more popular in warm climates.
