How big would a solar panel have to be to power ONLY an air conditioner, say 10k BTUs? 4' x 8'? Twice that? Maybe someone should manufacture an AC unit that's self-contained with a solar panel electricity source. Might get purchased by the millions of people who either don't own the home they're in or don't have the $25k needed for a whole-house solar system. Could you make a solar-AC unit and sell it for $5k?
